Meet The Team

Andrea is the Founder and Director of the Mexican Girls Olympiad in Informatics (OFMI) and passionate about women's inclusion in the tech world. She is a Senior Software Engineer in Netflix.

Vanessa has been managing all the cool engineering features in omegaUp.com since 2018. She started the Coder of the Month For Her award given to the best female student in the omegaUp platform. 

Luis is originally from Veracruz, México and has been designing the omegaUp image since 2019. Luis Gilberto is responsible for most of our cool logos, badges and icons for coding competitions.

Hugo has been responsible for the exciting features in omegaUp since 2018, including our internship programs. He currently works as a Software Engineer in Google.

​

Miguel has been volunteering with omegaUp since 2017. He is known by all the students coding communities in Mexico, always traveling to deliver a motivational speeches to the schools that work with omegaUp.

Luis Héctor is the chief architect of omegaUp.com, making it one of the most reliable and coding competitions platform in the market. He was formerly Staff Software Engineer at Google and currently heads engineering in Replit.

Juan Pablo is part of the omegaUp Engineering Team based in Mexico. He is the main contributor to our GitHub repository and implements most of the features in omegaUp nowadays.

Atenas is passionate about Social Justice and helping underserved communities through education. She has a Masters of Educational Leadership and Administration and has experience in the Mexican Education System.

Luz Gabriela manages all of our Social Media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn. Gabriela is part of the team that coordinates Resolviendo Problemas and Mi Historia Programando series behind-the-scenes.

Joe is passionate about democratizing the access to Computer Science education in Latin America, and removing the language barrier from falling in love with the tech world. He also works as a Software Engineer Manager at Microsoft.

Before working for Microsoft as a Software Engineer, Sergio used omegaUp to improve his problem solving skills. Today, Sergio oversees the Educational Content and Programs in omegaUp and those available through our social platforms.

Software engineer with 14+ years of experience, two-time ICPC World Finalist, and current competitive programmer coach.

Sebastián has a degree in Digital Systems and Robotics from Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico and he is the cofounder of their robotics team ‘RoBorregos’. Since 2020, he works in Microsoft as a Software Engineer for Azure SQL Database.

Jimena is a high school senior pursuing a CS-focused Diploma. She's a former Mexican Girls Olympiad in Informatics (OFMI) participant who now forms part of the organizing team.

Rodrigo Castro is a Computer Science professor at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (UAM). Rodrigo is a champion of the use of omegaUp in the classroom and has been coach of competitive coding teams.

Francisco Zaragoza is an associate professor at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana and earned his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. He is part of the founding team of the very first coding competition in Mexico in the early 90s.

Sylvia Aguilar is the HR director in omegaUp since 2020. She helps us coordinate all of our volunteer activities and manages our staff across different countries.

Computer engineer. Interested in bioinformatics and computer education. Enjoys science fiction and board games.

Data Engineer at Replit. He participated in the International Olympiads in Informatics and the ACM-ICPC. Juan is part of the founding team of the Mexican Olympiad in Informatics (OFMI).

José Manuel has been working as a trainer for math and informatics olympiads since 2016. He was thrilled to help since the first moment that the Mexican Girls Olympiad in Informatics (OFMI) was proposed. He also works as a software engineer.

Andrea is a chemist and an archaeological material scientist, former competitor at the Mexican Olympiad of Informatics (OMI). Nowadays she is part of the organizing team of the Mexican Girls Olympiad in Informatics (OFMI).

Carlos is a Computer Science engineer specialized in video game development with experience in virtual and augmented reality applications and 3D modeling.
